I currently have a "Classic Jungle" male that I produced here in 1995. I believe this particular strain differs from any other classic jungle strain because I have produced several hatchlings with aberrant patterns from line breeding. In order to separate this strain from others I have decided to call this strain the "Berkley" strain. If by selective breeding I produce a Jungle from this strain I will call it a Berkley Jungle (because this strain probably is NOT compatible with other strains). I strongly feel that the "busy" pattern associated with this "Berkley" strain is genetic. Further line breeding will prove how the pattern (and possibly the bright yellow color) is passed on. Currently this fascinating project is still in its infancy and requires further line breeding to assure everyone that they are reproducible. However, offspring may be available as early as late 2003!! Please call me if you have any questions or comments about my "Berkley" strain.
